I love the way this girl mix and matches, so many unique elements, all working sublimely together. The bowler hat, the tulle tutu like skirt, the fur/skin scarf, all the ethnic necklaces and bangles and of course the doc martens! Each element is so different from the other, yet everything blends into 1 unified vision on her.
Hah! One day I’d like to learn how to do that.

I didn’t get to do the usual mini interview with this elegant and lovely lady as she was in a hurry.
All the elements come together in this outfit, it is timeless yet youthful at the same time. The trench and the clogs are both very current elements, yet on her they are absolutely effortless. The hat adds a hint of eccentricity. Love it!
Psssstttt, I’ve booked a return flight to Shanghai for later this year! I’ll be taking 10 weeks off altogether, to explore my home town where I haven’t been for 6 or 7 years, but also to do some intrepid backpacking through China’s south west. To top it off, I might even sneak in a week or 2 in Japan. Quite the adventure huh? I know. I can’t wait!
Speaking of China. I had the pleasure of meeting Anina at RAFW, well, let’s see… ok… yeah, it was definitely her awesome yellow jacket that caught my eye. Anina is a model based in Beijing, was even awarded top foreign model there last year, she’s also the founder of online fashion network and community 360 fashion. This girl’s got a lot on her plate and still looks fabulous.

I’ve long decided that I lean toward the androgynous look, though only a conscious decision for not so long, but I’m a bit of a tomboy, the androgynous thing has always been a part of my personality. That is not to say I don’t love girly clothes, oh I do, really I do, but it’s just harder for me to carry some of it off. Often I’d try things that I’d been dreaming about for ages and then to find out, they totally don’t work on me. Pleh!
That’s why I love seeing girls who carry off girly looks elegantly, let’s face it, they make me insanely jealous too! Maybe in my next life I can be a girly girl.
