Isn’t it nice when a city greets you with this as you step out of the house? Can I have a nice message written in the sky every morning Sydney? kthxbai! Oh no, not with this bloody rain as of late. Gosh I’m sick of the rain and storm… Ok ok, enough whinging… now the main item of the day.

Aleita below does a fur jacket with simplicity with an awesome bag and nice hat to top it off. I’m still keeping an eye out for that elusive and perfect fur vest, sigh, I suppose I’ll be looking for a while.

After that 1 week of sudden warmth, Sydney weather has distinctly taken on a cool change. It’s all good news for me, since I can now get my nice jackets and coat out for walks, sure it’s not yet cold enough for wool coats, but my military jacket has seen a lot of action as of late. Trench coats, however, hmm… that one’s got me in a bit of a pickle, I bought my trench in New York, I couldn’t wear it when I was there because it was far too cold. Ever since I got back I’ve been waiting for the weather to get cold enough for me to wear it, but to my despair, all of a sudden it appears every single woman in Sydney has a trench coat, a beige one at that, just like mine. No matter how much I try to convince myself that mine’s nicer, sharper, from New York, it’s still a beige trench coat like everyone else’s. Doh doh doh!

So then I tell myself fear not, I did find the perfect vintage varsity jacket in Melbourne, red and white, thick thick wool, it’ll last me into the thickest winter. It’s just… a bit too sporty, a bit too tomboyish, I know I know, I am a tomboy, but you know, gotta mix it up. So what did I do? I decided it’s best paired with a pale pink tulle skirt… well, that’s exactly what I bought. The look is now complete!

Hah, all this winter jacket talk has got me remembering a few looks I shot in Melbourne.

Indeed what Todd wears individually aren’t the most outstanding or eye chatching. Like he said, his shirt is crinkled, his sneakers a bit worn, but I love the way he carries the clothes and the way he carries himself. The cut of his trousers, the tapered legs, rolled up to the ankle, this shirt with the sleeves NOT rolled up. Relaxed, cool.

Boots over jeans! It’s a mens trend I’ve been noticing. Tutu even asked me whether I think he can get away with it? Of course! He pulls it off with ease. I like the bright coloure details, the red lego heart and the blue glasses just jump out from the black, white and denim.

Well well, roll down those shirt sleeves, put on some boots, slip into that new jacket, throw on a scarf and out we go. Enjoy the cool change!

Do you see a pattern here? I’m intrigued about this hair style, I’m not too sure how I feel about it, whether I like it or not, though these young men are rocking it! One thing is for sure, the top mop definitely caught my eye.

It is way too late and the sensible me is telling me to go to bed because I got work tomorrow, but alas the other half has gotten the better of me. My giant back log of posts from Melbourne doesn’t help either, so many great looks to share with you, so little time.

This week, Sydney’s going through some sort of a mini heat wave which has sent me scrambling to put my jackets back on the rack and digging for my summer clothes again. Averaging at 25, 26 degrees during the day, this is definitely feeling like the last of summer. Hmmph, I was enjoying the cooler weather and looking forward to unleashing the jackets and coats I acquired in New York, but autumn is making me wait. It’s alright, I suppose I can wait a little, just a little.

I love light summery looks, they remind me of the beachside, of road trips, of carefree long summer holidays. The salty ocean air that I love, a paper parcel of fish and chips, a bottle (preferably glass) of super chilled coke (never diet coke, never!). Mmmm, the things that puts a smile on my face.

A light dress, an oversized shirt, that is summer. Simple, stunning, Australian summer fashion. Relaxed, not self conscious yet so so pretty. Guess what! I found the perfect examples in Melbourne.

The weatherman says 25 degrees and sunny tomorrow. Now what do I wear??!!! Dress? Skirt? Oversized shirt perhaps?

I apologise for my lack of posts, I’ve been swallowed up into the black hole that is a 9 – 6.30 job, escape is near! RAFW aka Sydney fashion week is also near! How exciting, with appearances by Susie Bubble, Tommy Ton, Scott Schuman, Garance Dore and a small army of Aussie bloggers, it’s going to be fun. That is if they decide to approve of my media accreditation application and if I don’t break my ankles, yeah, it’s always nice to have one’s ankles intact.

Now onto some more from LMFF!
