I love the way this girl mix and matches, so many unique elements, all working sublimely together. The bowler hat, the tulle tutu like skirt, the fur/skin scarf, all the ethnic necklaces and bangles and of course the doc martens! Each element is so different from the other, yet everything blends into 1 unified vision on her.

Hah! One day I’d like to learn how to do that.

I didn’t get to do the usual mini interview with this elegant and lovely lady as she was in a hurry.

All the elements come together in this outfit, it is timeless yet youthful at the same time. The trench and the clogs are both very current elements, yet on her they are absolutely effortless. The hat adds a hint of eccentricity. Love it!

I’ve long decided that I lean toward the androgynous look, though only a conscious decision for not so long, but I’m a bit of a tomboy, the androgynous thing has always been a part of my personality. That is not to say I don’t love girly clothes, oh I do, really I do, but it’s just harder for me to carry some of it off. Often I’d try things that I’d been dreaming about for ages and then to find out, they totally don’t work on me. Pleh!

That’s why I love seeing girls who carry off girly looks elegantly, let’s face it, they make me insanely jealous too! Maybe in my next life I can be a girly girl.

It was super windy and I just love the motion blurs in Sara’s skirt and hair, really makes the shot for me.

Today was well cold! Time to dig them parkas and coats out I think, definitely need a jacket at all times, especially at night now. This crisp autumn air is making me miss New York immensely. It’s not the first time I said that, is it? Ok, I won’t bore you with my ^**&#$^%…

Looks familiar? It’s Zanita whom I photographed on Day 1 of RAFW and posted under Lady lady. She’s just so adorable, isn’t she?!!! That hoodie cape looks so charming and cute on her, the contrast of the pink head band is great too.

This reminds me of the 2nd hand Coach trench cape I scored in NY, hmm yep yep, time to get it out for a whirl. I think the only way to wear a cape is with stockings or leggings, to play up the proportions, even skinny pants seem too much. But what do you think? Are capes the next big thing?

Happy mid week! It all gets easier from here! Says the girl who’s not working this week :p

After that 1 week of sudden warmth, Sydney weather has distinctly taken on a cool change. It’s all good news for me, since I can now get my nice jackets and coat out for walks, sure it’s not yet cold enough for wool coats, but my military jacket has seen a lot of action as of late. Trench coats, however, hmm… that one’s got me in a bit of a pickle, I bought my trench in New York, I couldn’t wear it when I was there because it was far too cold. Ever since I got back I’ve been waiting for the weather to get cold enough for me to wear it, but to my despair, all of a sudden it appears every single woman in Sydney has a trench coat, a beige one at that, just like mine. No matter how much I try to convince myself that mine’s nicer, sharper, from New York, it’s still a beige trench coat like everyone else’s. Doh doh doh!

So then I tell myself fear not, I did find the perfect vintage varsity jacket in Melbourne, red and white, thick thick wool, it’ll last me into the thickest winter. It’s just… a bit too sporty, a bit too tomboyish, I know I know, I am a tomboy, but you know, gotta mix it up. So what did I do? I decided it’s best paired with a pale pink tulle skirt… well, that’s exactly what I bought. The look is now complete!

Hah, all this winter jacket talk has got me remembering a few looks I shot in Melbourne.

Indeed what Todd wears individually aren’t the most outstanding or eye chatching. Like he said, his shirt is crinkled, his sneakers a bit worn, but I love the way he carries the clothes and the way he carries himself. The cut of his trousers, the tapered legs, rolled up to the ankle, this shirt with the sleeves NOT rolled up. Relaxed, cool.

Boots over jeans! It’s a mens trend I’ve been noticing. Tutu even asked me whether I think he can get away with it? Of course! He pulls it off with ease. I like the bright coloure details, the red lego heart and the blue glasses just jump out from the black, white and denim.

Well well, roll down those shirt sleeves, put on some boots, slip into that new jacket, throw on a scarf and out we go. Enjoy the cool change!

One word, James Dean, oh that was 2 words. James Dean! The jacket? The boots? Maybe the hair? I’m not sure, but retro American look is definitely the way to go for guys this autumn, yep, my executive decision. Do it! It’s an order.
