Isn’t it funny how much we rely on black? My affair with black didn’t start til I turned 20 and found my metabolism suddenly ground to a holt and I could no longer eat anything I want. I learnt that black is forgiving, slimming, chic, sexy, glamorous and even mysterious. So the number of black garment in my wardrobe grew by leaps and bounds, from 1 or 2 pieces to now a quarter of all my clothes.

Black makes you feel confident, self assured, when you slip into that black dress you know you look good and you feel comfortable in your own skin. Black can also be cute and wispy!

Ladies, black is always the new black.

Summer still - Paddington

Although it’s already mid March, but looking at these lovely girls, it still does look and feel like summer here. Indeed the last few days have been not just warm, but hot, with sudden summer rain storms that makes the street a gorgeous shiny gleam and is gone as sudden as it came.

I love those gladiators! It’s true what Garance said, that the footwear these seasons are very S&M, but surely a little pain won’t hurt for something that looks so good. I really like how the girl paired it with a simple white dress with an innocent feel, great juxtaposition.

That crop jacket! I’ve been looking for one since the beginning of summer, but I guess I haven’t been looking in the right places. And that wonderful colourful and checkered skirt! It’s so summer. So enjoy it while it lasts folks.

I’ve decided to display large photos straight on the blog, so now you can save some clicks.

Auckland girls - Pitt St

Auckland girls - Pitt St

These 2 girls were on holiday in Sydney from Auckland and they still like Auckland better :O I’ve never been to New Zealand, so I can’t be a judge on this issue :D

Don’t they look great? Looking chic, but effortlessly chic, that’s what it’s all about. I love the checkered trousers and the cut off denim shorts matched with cropped tshirt. Thanks girls for bringing some Auckland style to Sydney.

Bow tie - Paddy's Market

Excuse the not-so-good photo, it was indoor and the lighting was very bad.

I like bow ties.

I like Paddy’s Market too, but not at closing time, no no, that’s always bone crushingly busy. But mangosteens are in season and I love them!

Cardigan and bicycle - Kings Cross

Autumn was definitely in the air today, it was cloudy, gloomy and a little cold. It was a good reminder that I’m bored of wearing tshirts and I’d like to start layering clothes. Speaking of layering, this gentleman’s got some great layering going on, the belt and the shoes match! The shoes are so shiny and immaculate, I can never keep my shoes in such good condition, the toes always get scuffed 2 weeks in, I think I just like to kick things :D
